My Drawings -_-

I have always loved sketching. I have more control over the pencil; if it doesn’t work, I can erase it. Experimenting with shading is really interesting. I particularly love hatching and layering lines for the correct lighting and shading dynamics.

I am currently studying for the Bronze Art Award; I am excited to begin my journey on this course, as I would love to enhance my drawing ability and learn new skills.

As part of the course, we are set specific tasks to do. Firstly, I had to follow a video and copy what I was shown. I added details and shading after drawing the shapes and getting the dimensions accurate.

The first drawing I did was of a turtle. I didn’t really enjoy drawing this; I found it boring because it was too simple, and I found the restrictions of the task held me back from being creative. The process in itself was quick and easy to follow, so I got it done quite quickly.

The second drawing was a flamingo; I didn’t like this one either since I don't like birds much apart from hawks, so I struggled to connect with this picture.

The third drawing was a sketch of a seahorse. I liked doing this one. I found it fun to draw all of the little bumps down its back to add the more intricate and detailed parts. And I love seahorses.

The last one I drew was a squirrel. I don't have anything against the drawing, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. I found the shading repetitive when recreating its fur.

With all four pictures, I would like to start learning how to make them more realistic. In the future, I plan on developing my ability to draw people.
